Shortie socks are my absolute favourite to knit and wear. They fly off your needles, and when they are knit it stripes, are completely addictive. The little jog in this pattern is made by a simple slip stitch that is so quick and easy. I know I called these shorties, but they are equally adorable with a full length leg. Slip Stripe Shorties are:

• worked top down
• use 2 colours (or more!) of yarn. Self striping yarn is so good with a solid in this pattern.
• pattern is an addictive mix of simple stripes and a slip stitch
• pattern is written with a heel flap + gusset as I think this fits extremely well, but you can substitute your favourite heel easily
• written as Magic Loop, but also includes tip for knitting with DPNs
• round toe
