Slipstream Cardigan
This nautically inspired cabled cardigan is perfect for everyday wear. The Propeller and Six Strand Cables are both worked over the same number of rows making the design more visually balanced and easier to knit.
To minimize the amount of joining needed to finish the sweater, the body (front and back) is worked flat (in rows) as a single piece on long circular needles to accommodate the width.
The sleeves have a cross between semi-raglan and modified drop shaping. The neckline edging is knit after the pieces have been joined.
Required Skills: basic knit and purl stitches, repetitive stitch patterns, basic cables
Yarn Weight: 4 - Medium
Recommended Yarn: Skacel HiKoo Sueño Worsted (shown in 1564 Manatee Tonal)
Recommended Needle Size: US size 8 (5.0 mm) 24 and 48 inch long circular needles
Finished Measurements: Women’s Small (Medium, Large)
Since cardigans are worn over other layers, this sweater has positive ease.
sweater circumference = 40 (44, 48) inches
fits bust measurement (at fullest point) up to 36 (40, 44) inches
Pattern Length: 7 pages
