These socks are inspired by the smokestack we would drive by on breezy fall trips to the Oregon coast when I was a child. Wide, oval-shaped cables enwrap inserts of winding lace that mimic the smoke billowing out of the smokestack. This is the perfect portable project to work on in just a day or two, and only one skein of Universal Uptown Worsted is needed to make a pair. Work them with the Magic Loop method for an easy, no-fuss, on-the-go knitting project. This pattern is charted and includes written instructions for both the right sock and the left sock.

CONSTRUCTION
These socks are worked in the round from the toe up. Judy’s Magic Cast-on begins these socks and shadow wrap short rows make up the heel. The pattern is written using the Magic Loop method but DPNs can also be used. The pattern will direct you on how to distribute the stitches. Written in one adult size but additional stockinette stitches can be added for extra width. The footbed is adjustable from a women’s size 8 to 10.
