Starching and blocking are necessary when finished working the snowflake. Dip snowflake in diluted liquid fabric starch, roll in towel to remove excess starch. Using rust-proof pins, slightly stretch and pin snowflake to box lid covered with waxed paper so that the snowflake is symmetrical. Allow starch to dry, remove pins. Snowflake ought to be stiff enough to hang without drooping. Store in tissue rather than plastic baggies (to prevent molding).
