I designed this hat for the Level 3 Hand Knitting program, and decided to re-visit the pattern when a friend expressed interest in the original hat. I reduced the number of colors for a more cohesive look and increased the needle size to give the hat a bit more softness. The stranded head band is lined for warmth and body, and a picot edge is created when the lining is turned up and stitched in place. A Latvian braid finishes the head band, and transitions to the hat’s crown decreases. This warm and colorful cap is topped with a 4-strand braid and tassel. Wear it with the crown tucked slightly below the Latvian braid.
