Pricing update: I have increased my prices to more accurately represent the work that has gone into the making of my patterns. All my patterns have increased in prices, however my newer designs have increased more than my old ones, as I feel I have learned a lot over the years and the quality of my newer designs is higher. The price listed reflects what I believe is fair for the work put into the design, however I understand that the price increases may be inaccessible to some and am offering some tiered discounts for those that need them.

A “Choose What You Pay” model is available for this pattern, allowing both financial accessibility and fair pricing. The buyer may pay what they are able while still valuing the hard work invested to create this design. Use the codes below in order to pay the price listed after each. Choose whichever price works best for you!

  • No Code – Full Price = $12.00 CAD
  • PK10 – 10% off = $10.80 CAD
  • PK20 – 20% off = $9.60 CAD
  • PK30 – 30% off = $8.40 CAD

I also offer a Buy 3, Get 1 Free discount! Add any 4 of my patterns to your cart, and use the code BUY3GET1 to get the 4th pattern free! Note: the free pattern will be the lowest priced pattern.

The Snuggle Bug sweater is inspired by cozy fall days where you just want to curl up in your favourite cozy sweater and watch movies on the couch! It has an optional zip-up neck (or can be left open) and is worked top down raglan style in 1 x 1 ribbing. It has fitted sleeves and a split bottom hem so the back is longer and covers more of your butt!. The sweater is designed to fall about hip/butt level, but can easily be customized to a longer length! This is a #sizeinclusive pattern, and is designed for 0-4” of positive ease, but could easily be worn with a bit of negative ease as well due to the stretchiness of the 1 x 1 ribbing!

Sizes offered: 30 (34, 38, 42) {46, 50, 54} (58, 62, 66) {70, 74}
These sizes reflect the FINISHED bust measurement
Sizes 62, 66, 70 and 74 are untested. If you would like to make this sweater in one of the untested sizes, I will send you a copy for free in exchange for feedback.

Needles required: 6.5 mm for body (at least 32/40 inch cords), 5 mm for sleeve cuffs (you may be able to use 16 inch cord, or longer cord with magic loop method,or DPNs)
may need other size needles to meet gauge

Gauge: 19 sts = 4 inches 16 rows = 4 inches

Yarn required: I used KnitPicks Snuggle Puff yarn - 142 yds per 50g ball. This yarn is classified as an Aran/Heavy Worsted weight yarn, but I have also seen it classified as a bulky yarn on yarn sub websites.
I think any heavier worsted/aran or lighter bulky would work fine! Just make sure you can get gauge!

Yardage required: 675 (760, 900, 1000) {1140, 1280, 1390} (1530, 1620, 1740) {1880, 1990}
Yardage is an approximation at this point, and is calculated using the recommended length. I included more yardage than I actually used to account for people with longer arms and torsos to get the same sort of fit as my sample, so this yardage should be enough. Please allow for a bit extra yardage if choosing to do a longer sweater or if you know you have longer than average arms/torso

Extra bits required (if adding a zipper):
-a couple yards of a matching/similar colour yarn in a thinner yarn (to sew the zipper one). You could use a thinner weight yarn so it fits into a normal needle better.
-a 23 cm zipper (can use a different length zipper, you will just need to adjust where you join the work to make sure there is enough room for the zipper to fit in!)
