The pattern describes making gloves with five fingers using the stockinette stitch. The best method for knitting both gloves simultaneously is as follows: first, knit one hand and the pinky finger, then the second hand and pinky finger, and afterward, alternate knitting each finger one by one.
The pattern describes knitting the gloves using circular needles. If you choose to use double-pointed needles, keep in mind that the front needle on the circulars (the one closer to you) corresponds to the 1st and 2nd double-pointed needles and the back needle on the circulars (the one farther from you) corresponds to the 3rd and 4th double-pointed needles.
