These little bags are worked completely seamlessly from the bottom up, similar to the beginning of a toe-up sock. Once you have increased, divide your stitches and choose your favorite method of working in the round OR work in the round double knitting style by knitting back and forth (flat) and slipping every other stitch! Note that this pattern is knit entirely in reverse-stockinette (or flip inside out and work in stockinette) and does not consist of a slipped-stitch pattern.

Uses approximately half of a ball of Bernat Handicrafter Cotton Stripes. Gauge and yardage is as per the label. Original pattern suggests knitting the facecloth pattern from the back of the label with the other half of the ball. The ‘original’ part of the pattern is the soap bag that you can make with the other half of the skein.

Enjoy. These make great little personal gift exchange gift bags. I’ve loaded them with handmade soap (duh), but also with goodies such as tootsie rolls, lemon drops, nuts and the like.
