Social Construct hat
Gender and especially the gender binary are a social construct - on which harms many people who don’t fit into this binary. The Social Construct hat is meant to be worn by anyone of any gender or age - as neither clothes and accessories nor colours should have a gender and they should be enjoyed by anyone who likes the look of them.
I started with a ribbed brim in blue, then for the main part, the blue is mixed with light pink in half linen stitch, and the crown is worked in pink - an intentional mix of colours that are traditionally seen as “boy” and “girl” colours. Of course it will work with any two colours of your choice.
Sizes go from baby to adult large, so you can challenge social norms about gender at every age.
Make the world more colourful, one hat at a time!

Tapestry needle to weave in ends.
DK weight yarn, Col A, Col B

20 sts and 40 rows = 10 cm/4” in half linen stitch.
Row gauge isn’t that essential, as you work to measurments, not number or rows.
