Sockwork Orange
Sockwork Orange is the fourth design of a sock series especially created for all sock yarns with a color gradient like Zauberball, Lang Mille Colori, Noro Sock, Mini Mochi, Lana Grossa Meilenweit, Poems Sock, Nordlys by Viking of Norway, and many more. It is a fun to knit project as you will always be compelled to see the effect the next color will offer.
However you can also combine two solids, one solid with a color gradient, two contrasting gradients etc. If you knit Sockwork Orange with one yarn you will need 1 ball of 100 g/3.5oz. If you use two yarns, you will either need 50g/1.75oz each or 65g/2.25oz of one color and 35g/1.25oz of the other.
Sockwork Orange is knitted toe-up. If this is your first attempt to knit socks from the toe up, this pattern will guide you through all the steps.
Sockwork Orange is modular, but you will join all pieces as you go, so no seaming is involved.
Sockwork Orange offers written and charted instructions as well as graphics to demonstrate the architecture of this particular design. This pattern shows a 64 stitch version and you will be given a table with all sock sizes to knit your Sockwork Orange socks in your size. Additional stitches can be easily added if need be. To avoid any confusion and to keep the already considerable number of pages at a reasonable amount I didn’t include larger versions. If you prefer your socks to be wider and find it hard to make said adjustments, feel free to get in touch with me under ursamajorknits@gmail.com for further advice.
Happy Knitting
