Sofa Cushion Cover
After having my lovely sofa blanket, I had the need of one or two matching cushions.
A garter stitch border frames the outside edge of the cushion, then you have 2 smaller borders, with a checker board or nupps motif, before the central geometric motif, which is a mix of knit and purl stitches.
The instructions are charted and fully written.
There are different manner to finish the Sofa Cushion Cover, depending if you want to leave the cushion inside or have the possibility to take it out. There are instructions for a buttonhole placket and how to finish it if you want to sew a zipper or how to finish it if you want to close it.
I used six 2 cm/3/4“ buttons on my sample in white and five 2,5 cm/1“ buttons on my sample in teal.
I didn’t block my white cushion cover as the inner cushion is 40 cm/15.75“ wide.
My blue sample has one side with beads and one side with nupps.
You will need a inner cushion, 5 to 8 buttons, depending on the button size you like and optional 8 stitch markers.
Please swatch as the gauge is important for the width of the cushion cover. A slightly tighter gauge is not a problem as your cover will stretch a bit. A looser gauge won’t look great.
