This shawl was a beginner lace project Margaret designed as part her association with the Knitting and Crochet Guild in the United Kingdom.

It is a simple Shetland style lace triangle with the Double Diamond border knitted first and then edge stitches picked up for the body. The size is controlled by the needle size.

In Margaret’s original version, the larger shawl knitted on 3.75 needles had a finished size of 96cm wide and 50 cm deep at the deepest point excluding the border. On 2.75 mm needles the finished size is 72 cm wide by 38 cm deep at the deepest point.
