Sizing and Gauge:
To fit a foot with the following measurements with approximately 1”/ 2.5 cm of negative ease:
Measure foot at the widest point
Small- 7.5”/19cm circumference
Med- 8.5”/ 22cm circumference
Large- 9.5”/ 24cm circumference
Extra-Large- 10.5”/ 27cm circumference
Circumference of actual sock: 6.2 (7, 8, 8.8)”/ 16 (18, 20, 22)cm
18 sts/ 26 rounds per 2”/ 5cm (stockinette unstretched)
Materials:
1 Yarn Over New York Sock Set (1 skein of sock yarn and 1 mini for contrast toes, heels and cuffs)
full skein: 100gr, 400-462yd/365-420m sock yarn (yarn containing nylon is highly recommended)
mini: 20gr, 80-92yd/73-84m sock yarn
suggestion yarns: Times Square sock, Broadway sparkle sock
shown in: Solar Eclipse of the Heart with Here Comes the Sun Again and Comet Tail with Sea Below
2 pairs of US 1 (2.25mm) at least 24” (60cm) or long circular needle for magic loop or set of 4 dpns
1 stitch marker
Large-eye needle to weave in ends
Yarn Substitution:
Open your skein to see the colors. It should mainly one solid color with short bursts of other color(s). The bursts of colors should measure 2” to 12” (5 to 30cm) “Comet Tail” is mostly black with a 10”/ 25cm rainbow burst. “Solar Eclipse of the Heart” is mostly black/blue with a 12”/ 30cm yellow burst and 8”/ 20cm orange burst.
Note: Pattern is written for 2 circular needles, please feel free to substitute your favorite method.
