The idea for this pattern came to me at a day in June when the summer solstice was happening. I never thought of this cyclus as it happens and goes,but this day in June it got my attention. When you search for information about the solstice you directly see photos and group tours to the amazing Stonehenge formation where you can celebrate and experience the Solstice when it is there. These photos are so common as you see the light to deep blue sky with a shine of yellow of the sun that sets at the horizon above the Stonehenge stones. This photo was my inspiration for this doily. The mid center shows some geometric lines that is my abstract inspiration of the sun, the second round shows the rays of yellow sunlight and the third one contains the deep blue sky. I really love how this piece turned out in the end and the delicate stitches it contains in a simple way.

Then some general information about the pattern :

I used Scheepjes Catona in different colours and different weights of skeins as they come in 10, 25 and 50 grams skeins with a length of 125 meters for a skein of 50 grams. Of course you can also use scrap yarns or different kind of yarntypes. As you need small amounts of yarn it is perfect to use whatever you like. Here is what you need for the project :

Color A : 50 grams ( i used 393 Charcoal )
Color B : 25 grams ( i used 106 Snowwhite )
Color C : 25 grams ( i used 509 Baby Blue )
Color D : 15 grams ( i used 173 Bluebell )
Color E : 15 grams ( i used 247 Blue Bird )
Color F : 15 grams ( i used 510 Sky Blue )
Color G : 8 grams ( i used 384 Powder Blue )
Color H : 12 grams ( i used 146 Vivid Blue )
Color I : 10 grams ( i used 400 Petrol Blue )
Color J : 10 grams ( i used 101 Candle Light )
Color K : 15 grams ( i used 522 Primrose )
Color L : 15 grams ( i used 208 Yellow Gold )
Color M : 7 grams ( i used 249 Saffron )

Finished size : 55 cm / 21,6 inches from point to point

Used stitches in the pattern are just regular ones from slip stitches to trebles. Special stitches used are popcorns, back post single crochets, front post trebles, 3 single crochets together and picot’s.

The pattern is carefully tested by 7 testers before publishing it.

31/10/18 errata : Round 21 says to make all FPTR around the FPTR of round 19, this needs to be Round 20. After this date the pattern is updated.
