Solstice Revisited is a reworking of my original Solstice pattern, giving more options for yarn weights and neck sizing. The original Solstice was a lovely floaty shawl, with a wide neck that made it easy to slip over your head on cooler summer evenings. It was knit in laceweight yarn for a light and airy take-anywhere accessory. The very wide boat-shaped neck, however, was not practical for an all-seasons pattern. So I have revisited the design, and tweaked it to appeal to both hemispheres and all seasons. This new version can be knit in a variety of yarn weights, from lace to DK, and features three neck circumferences.

Neck circumferences: 60 cm / 24”, 65 cm / 26”, and 75 cm / 30”.
Overall length: about 45 cm / 18”

Tension:
Use stocking stitch/stockinette for your gauge swatch and measure after washing and blocking.
Lace, light fingering/sock, and 4ply/fingering: 20 sts and 30 rows = 10 cm / 4” on 4 mm US size 6 needles.
DK: 18 sts and 22 rows = 10 cm / 4” on 4.5 mm US size 7 needles.

Samples shown in all four yarn weights:
grey lace, Snældan Nappað tógv 1tr in dark grey
purple light fingering: Holst Garn Tides in Orchid
green gradient 4ply: Scheepjes Woolly Whirl in Melting Mint Centre
pale green DK: Eden Cottage Milburn DK in Thyme

Yardages required for each size/yarn weight are shown in the last photo on the left.
