Songlines came into being as a meditation on walking. I read Bruce Chatwin’s book about Aboriginal Songs and was deeply moved by their relationship with the Earth. I found myself walking routes around my croft on the Isle of Skye and naming the burns, springs, rocky outcrops and bays. Later I discovered the old man who had lived in our house all of his life and was known as a Gaelic Scholar had done the same. It is that relationship with the land and sea I wanted to explore in a knitting meditation. I hope you enjoy making this as much as I have!
