The inspiration for the two Riverside Sweaters is the short-sleeved pullover Nives (Sophia Loren) wears in the 1958 film Woman of the River. The lacy Cardigan—chic but also dignified—suggests the later Nives, who has suffered, but also discovered an inner strength.

The body is worked seamlessly from the top down using the contiguous sleeve method developed by Susie Myers (SusieM).
