Soutache Spencer
This semi-fitted short spencer jacket features a trellis cable pattern that forms the perfect background for a very easy chain embroidery and French-knot decoration.
Yarn: Hazel Knits DK Lively; 275 yd 251 m / 3 1/2 oz 100g): wheatberry (MC), 5 (6, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10) skeins; woodland (CC1), 1 skein; chocoberry (CC2), 1 skein.
Needles: Size 7 (4.5mm): straight, 16” circular and a set of dpns. Size 6 (4mm): straight and a set of dpns.
Notions: Markers; stitch holders; cable needle; tapestry needle; size G/6 (4mm) crochet hook; ten 1/2” (3mm) buttons.
Gauge: 20 sts and 30 rows = 4” in St st on larger needles; 23 sts and 30 rows = 4” in trellis part on larger needles.
