Sometimes, it’s really exciting to create something ususual and not just an extra sweater or scarf!

I just love spiders and find them so beautiful. This pattern will enable you to create your own little spiderling sculptures, with thin wire legs that you can pose just how you want.

It’s suitable for beginner, but you do need to feel a little confident about shaping your spiderling’s legs.

What you will need:

2 knitting needles (US2/2.75mm or as per tension advice)
5g black 4ply or DK yarn (e.g. Rowan Cotton Glacé 727 ‘Black’)
Two black plastic toy safety eyes (6mm)
Polyfil toy stuffing
1-2 metres thin wire (e.g. Silver plated copper wire 0.6mm-0.8mm thick)
1 pair of pliers/wire cutters
1 tapestry needle for finishing

Skills used: Casting on and off, increasing and decreasing, shaping and cutting wire

Stitches used: Stocking stitch

Please note that this pattern is sold on the condition that it will be used for personal use only, e.g. making gifts for family and friends, not for commercial purposes.
