These are great little socks for your tiniest one’s feet. Made without heels, they are easy and quick to knit and can be sized up o fit any member of the family.

Materials

  • KB Adjustable Sock Loom One - 5/16 gauge, metal pegs
  • Knitting tool
  • Tapestry needle
  • (2) pieces of contrasting color yarn, each 8” long (optional) for closing toe

Yarn: 45 yards of light weight yarn. Bernat Baby Jacquards (Cherry Berry) was used in sample. Make sure to use a soft yarn, as preemie skin is very delicate. Note: 65-70 yards of yarn for baby socks

Stitches: FS and KS

Gauge: 7 stitches and 10 rounds = 1” in K2, P2 rib.

Spiral tube socks have comfort-fit ribbing that give the socks enough stretch yet still fit comfortably even without a heel. These characteristics make the socks ideal for preemies, and newborns. Because there is no heel, they will fit a variety of foot lengths, and the ribbing helps it stay on those squirming baby feet.
