Spooky Tots – a trio comprising Vivi the Vampire, Mike the Mummy and Craig the Monster. Quick, fun items with a Halloween feel. I pictured them as a similar shape to potato tots (tater tots or potato gems depending on where in the world you are!) and they are a great size for little hands.

My Spooky Tot Set are easy amigurumi (crochet) patterns written in English using US (American) terminology. The patterns include detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished items. My Spooky Tots are approximately 11cm tall (4 inches).

You will receive one PDF file which requires software like Adobe Reader to open (this is free to download).

You will need:

• 2.75mm hook/C-2 (US)
• 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted > less than 50g yarn in each colour
• BLACK yarn or thread to embroider
• 7.5mm safety eyes
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Polyester toy stuffing
• Stitch marker (optional)

Notes:

• Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round.
• A yarn with no stretch is best, I prefer cotton.
• When changing colour, yarn over the new colour and pull through on the stitch prior.
• Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
