This toe-up sock is a plain design, with a heel flap and gusset construction. Perfect for when you want a pair of socks in a hurry, or want to keep your feet extra toasty warm, these are knit in sports weight yarn. The heel is turned with German short rows.

There is a sister pattern Double Vanilla, written for DK yarn. Buy them both at the same time for a reduced price of £7 GBP

This sock is essentially my free vanilla pattern, written at a different gauge. If you are comfortable using the worksheets or online calculators provided in that pattern to enable you to work in heavier yarn, then DO NOT buy this pattern, I don’t want you to be disappointed.

Sizes - measured around mid-foot

  • Small - 7” (17.75cm)
  • Medium - 8 “ (20.25cm)
  • Large - 9” (22.75cm)
  • X Large - 10” (25.5cm)

Yarn Requirement
Small and Medium should be able to use 100g of yarn, Large and X Large will more likely need 150g, though of course it is dependent on the length of the foot and the height of the sock.

Notions

  • stitch markers
  • tapestry needle for weaving in the ends

I’d love it if you’d come to my group to show off your lovely socks, or chat about them while you’re making them. You’d be very welcome!
