The design:
Spotty Kind of Day is an easy level pattern that requires a little counting but is overall a relaxing repeating design
It is inspired by the children’s rhyme
‘Put a spot over here and a spot over there, put a spot in your ear and a spot in your hair, put a lot of little spots in the air, everywhere, it’s a spotty kind of day’
The texture created by the spots is a fantastic source of tactile stimulation for babies.

Materials needed:
Spotty Kind of Day was designed using DK/8ply/weight 3. Meterage used was 125- 250 m. I used a 4.5 mm hook. It measures 20-30 cm.
Stitch markers.
Wool/darning needle.
Teether optional
Gauge=no gauge required
Recommended Hook size:
4.5-5.5 mm for 8ply/DK/weight 3
5.5- 7 mm for 10ply/Aran/worsted/weight 4
Or hook appropriate for your chosen yarn weight

pm: Place marker
sc: Single crochet
dc: Double crochet
fpdc: work the dc around the front post of the stitch
ch: chain
sl st: Slip stitch
ch-sp: Chain space
SpSt: spot stitch of your choice
