Quilt Square

The pinwheel is another common quilt-square motif. Although combining increases and decreases with late color changes creates almost-right angles, it is necessary to alternate between these sharper-angle stitches and simple late color changes to create the 45-degree angles we need to give the appearance of the pinwheel pattern.
