Squeaky Mouse in a basket
The little Squeaky Mouse is having a rest in their basket bed. This makes a lovely gift, and the mouse could also be used as a pincushion. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the toys are knitted in DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). The mouse’s tail is an i-cord tube worked on two DPNs.
NEEDLES
A pair each of 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles and DPNs (US 4)
RECOMMENDED YARN
The mouse is made from less than 25g of an alpaca blend DK yarn in Grey, and a few metres in Pink for the nose. The basket is made from less than 25g of an acrylic DK yarn in Beige.
NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, and beads for eyes
SIZES
One size only - The mouse is 7cm long (not including the tail) and the basket is approximately 8cm diameter.
TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
