Intermediate - This pattern is for those who feel comfortable with crocheting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/ concepts include working with multiple colors and special combination stitches.
Notes from the Designer:
A fun and colorful baby blanket that’s filled with plenty of stripes, squiggles, and lots of giggles. Sized to keep the recipient warm through the toddler years. You can also customize this blanket to create a larger throw.
-
The original version of this pattern was crocheted with our Luster Worsted yarn and used three skeins of Color A and one skein each of Colors B, C, D, and E in colors: A) Jungle, B) Moment of Zen, C) Saffron, D) Favorite Lipstick, and E) Pansy.
-
The original version was made with a border, but the updated version does not include a border. If you wish to add a border to the updated version, you will need additional skeins of yarn.
-
Gauge is important in this pattern, as the pattern uses up nearly all of the skeins of Colors B–E. If you are unsure of your gauge, consider purchasing an extra skein of each color to ensure you have enough yarn to complete your project.
-
Please check your gauge frequently to ensure you do not run out of yarn.
-
The pattern is easily adjustable. For a thinner, smaller, and more draping blanket, opt for Luster Sport yarn and a smaller hook (US size G), and follow the pattern as written.
-
Each row is a new color that can be fastened off as you go.
-
Either work the tails as you go, or wait until you are ready to work the short sides to weave in all the tails.
-
The sizing can be adjusted, but the blanket is shown in a size that’s great for baby through toddler years.
-
Pattern is worked in multiples of 8 + 2.
