An original crochet amigurumi Squirrel pattern by June Gilbank.

Details: This pattern includes variations for two different types of squirrel:

• a standard Grey Squirrel (aka Eastern Gray Squirrel)
• an adorable European Red Squirrel with long tufted ears

Note: Despite their names, grey squirrels can be brownish, black, orange or white as well as grey, and red squirrels vary from orange through deep red to black, so you have lots of colour choices, even if you want to make a realistically-coloured squirrel!

Additional info: This pattern includes 4 pages of bonus info in 2 two-page appendices for both right- and left-handers that clearly explain my innovative method for joining the front legs and body while you crochet so they sit at exactly the right angle in the finished squirrel. 

This is a modular pattern: save paper and ink by printing only the appendices you need (right-handed or left-handed assembly guide, or neither).

Yarn: worsted weight yarn in any squirrel colour (grey, red, black, brown, orange) or any other colour of your choice.

Hook: US E / 3.5mm

Size: approx 6.5-7” (16.5-18cm) tall

Eyes: 10mm
