NOTES
The socks are knitted from the cuff down in stranded knitting with two colors per row. The third color, i.e., the red of the berries can be left out altogether or added in duplicate stitch at the end. The pattern uses an easy pyramid heel; the heel is knitted in the round alongside the leg and only the gusset decreases are worked back and forth. The leg of these socks is quite long (approx. 9.8 in / 25 cm) and has no shaping so it is best suited for a slim calf. A wider calf sock can be created by leaving out the first squirrel. The length of the foot is adjustable.

GAUGE
33 sts and 36 rows of stranded knitting = 4 x 4 in / 10 x 10 cm. Adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge.

Sukat neulotaan kahden värin kirjoneuleena varresta alaspäin. Kolmannen värin eli marjojen punaisen voi halutessaan jättää kokonaan pois tai sen voi lisätä työhön jälkikäteen silmukoita jäljentämällä. Mallissa on pyramidikantapää, jonka kantalappuosio muotoutuu melkein huomaamatta varren neulomisen ohessa. Ainoastaan kantakavennukset tehdään tasona. Varsi on melko pitkä (n. 25 cm kantapää mukaan lukien) eikä siinä ole muotoilua, joten leveämmän pohkeen sukista kannattaa jättää ylin oravakuvio pois. Koossa 38 kirjoneule jatkuu kärkeen saakka. Ohjeessa neuvotaan myös, miten voit neuloa sukkiin yksivärisen kärjen, mikäli haluat säätää terän pituuden sopimaan omaan käsialaasi tai eri kokoihin.
