Play with color and pattern in a wrap that features segments of color that stack like historic subway tiles. The pattern is achieved with slipped stitches and alternating solid-colored stripes. On the wrong side of the fabric, the technique leaves little heart-like stitches that only you will see!

Yarn Manos del Uruguay Alegria (75% Merino superwash, 25% polyamide; 445 yd 405 m/3½ oz 100 g): #A2241 Sand (MC) , 2 skeins; #A2620 Thistle (CC1), #A2121 Cinnamon (CC2), #A2127 Copper (CC3), 1 skein each. Yarn distributed by Fairmont Fibers.

Needles Size 2 (2.75 mm) : 24” circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Tapestry needle; size C -2 (2.75 mm) crochet hook.

Gauge 28 sts and 54 rows = 4” in Windowpane Stitch.

• This wrap is worked back and forth in rows from end to end.

• The 6-row Windowpane Stitch pattern is repeated for the length of the wrap, but the CC used for Rows 1–4 of the pattern changes in accordance with the stripe sequence shown in the chart. The MC used for Rows 5–6 of the pattern remains the same throughout. The chart shows which color to use as the CC, followed by how many times to repeat Rows 1–6 of the Windowpane Stitch pattern. The chart also has space to check o ff each section as it is completed.

• Break CC yarn at each change of CC. Do not break MC yarn; carry the yarn along the side edge while working rows of CC.
