This sock is knit in two directions to take advantage of a striped yarn with long repeats. The leg is knit first, back and forth on straight (or circular) needles, then joined up the back. Stitches are picked up along the ankle and a foot is knit in the traditional top-down way.

Pattern calls for size 2 straights (or circulars) and size 1 dpns,
but no gauge was given.
