The Star Chart Shawl is our knit pattern for the 2026 Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop. The overall theme for the Hop was “Museums” and our store was inspired by the planetarium!

Celebrate the night sky with this stellar shawl! This shawl was designed to depict the star map of the sky over Amazing Threads, our yarn shop in Maple Grove, MN the weekend of the Shop Hop.

This scarf uses two skeins of fingering weight yarn in a solid and variegated colorway. We used Kraeo’s Twisted Sister Fingering for this project.

2 skeins of Kraeo Twisted Sister Fingering (85% Merino Wool, 15% Mulberry Silk. 100g, 490 yds) - in your choice of three different colorways: Aurora - representing the northern lights, Airglow - representing the light bouncing off earth’s atmosphere, or Blue Hour - representing the dusky twilight time of night.

Our sample used one solid colorway paired with the variegated to give different night sky effects.

Needles: US 3 (3.25mm) - 32” circular
