Star of the Snow socks
`Star of the snow' flower, better known as the Edelweiss is the inspiration behind this colourwork sock pattern which was originally designed as part of the 'work-along' for the Swiss yarn festival.
These socks are knit from the cuff down with a 1 x 1 ribbed cuff, an eye of partridge heel-flap and gusset (however any sock heel can substitute this) and has a section of colourwork on the leg, followed by a simple ribbed stitch pattern on the foot.
This pattern is written in English and has step by step written instructions.
Needle size is chosen according to the size required and gauge for the colourwork section.
•Small (foot circumference 19-20cm) 2.25mm (US1) needles, 38sts x 40 rounds 10cm
•Medium (foot circumference 21-22cm) 2.5mm (US1.5) needles, 34sts x 38 rounds 10cm
•Large (foot circumference 23-24cm) 2.75mm (US2) needles, 32sts x 36 rounds 10cm
Foot length is easily adjustable.
