Starburst is the perfect sweater to knit up fast for cooler weather. Its simple elegance is highlighted by a textured starburst motif at the yoke, with multiple neckline options to suit your style.

You can try on your sweater and even block it before working the cuffs. It’s easy to do this and get the exact result you want with top-down designs!*

The starburst motif is far easier than it appears, and the hybrid yoke construction gives you the best of both worlds: a circular yoke for effortless textured, lace knitting that transitions into raglan shaping for a comfortable, flattering fit.

Worked top-down and seamlessly in the round, Starburst lets you try it on as you go, with no surprises, and no finishing beyond weaving in a few ends. The neckline is worked first for built-in structure that prevents stretching, and you can add a collar of your choice later. Short rows shape and lower the front neck, and can also create an optional angled hem with a bit of extra length in the back.
Long sleeves with ribbed cuffs can easily be adjusted for a shorter length.

This design shines in any yarn that meets gauge, has good stitch definition, and not too much color variation.

The instructions are charted and written and the pattern has been professionally tech-edited and tested.
