The cowl is worked from the bottom up in joined rounds. The star-like stitch pattern is a sequence of double crochet, front post double crochet and chains worked on the same principle as the Starburst stitch.

Note: 1 cake will make both a 20” and a 24” cowl. But if larger hook is required for gauge, a second ball of yarn may be necessary to make both sizes.
