The Starfall shawl is a large asymmetrical shawl pattern that uses a simple stitch pattern to big effect! It’s knit with the wonderfully squishy Bunting DK, a 100% Falkland Island Corriedale 4 ply yarn that is stocked by both The Small Bird Workshop and Beehive Wool Shop. This shawl was designed to celebrate the April 2023 Small Bird Workshop pop-up at the Beehive Wool Shop! And, the Beehive Wool Shop has kits available!

This shawl celebrates little stitches. Starfall uses one of Catherine’s favourite stitches, the cross-stitch, and the sister pattern to this shawl, Rainfall, uses an Estonian button stitch. Instructions for both stitches have been included so that you can mix and match as you’d like, but just be aware that they have different gauges and use a different amount of yardage, so it’s a good idea to weigh your yarn so you don’t have to play yarn chicken.

This pattern includes charted instructions only. Written instructions will be added soon!

Small Bird Workshop Bunting DK is currently available through the Beehive Wool Shop in Victoria, BC, and will be added to the Small Bird Workshop online store in May.
