A dramatic beanie with built-in Starflower earmuffs adds the wow factor to warm winter woolies. And -- if you don’t live in the Snowbelt and aren’t in need of a super warm hat -- just one Starflower makes a lovely adornment.

Or you can omit both flowers for a perfect guy beanie.

The beanie, worked from the top down in joined rounds, measures 20 in./51 cm around the bottom edge, and it’s 8 in./20 cm tall, not including the flower points.

This pattern is sized for adult small to large, and pattern notes offer fit adjustments for circumference and length.

The beanie with two Starflowers takes just under one ball of Lion Brand Thick & Quick in solids and tweeds. For Thick & Quick prints and metallics, it will take a little more than one ball of yarn.

The pattern is five pages, and it includes a chart of the Starflower and written instructions, using U.S. crochet terms.
