Stars, Birds, and Butterflies
Simple boatneck pullover trimmed with an array of star, bird, and butterfly motifs, is worked in stranded two-color knitting. Lower borders of front and back are worked separately, back and forth in rows, with back border 1½“ longer than front border. Body is worked in the round to the start of the neck shaping, with steeks for the armhole openings. Front neck shaping is worked back and forth in short-rows to base of neckband; then patterned boat neckband is worked in the round on all stitches to the shoulders. Sleeves are worked in the round with facings at the upper edges to cover the raw edges of the steeked armhole openings.
