A starry pair of stranded mitts, named in honour of the astronomer and populariser of science, Carl Sagan.

Materials: Approximately 80 yards of fingering-weight yarn for the ‘star colour’ (SC), and 95 yards for the ‘background colour’ (BC).
I used less than one ball of Zealana Kauri Fingering in each colour: ‘Kea’ (SC) and ‘Blue Pania’ (BC).

Sizing: The given size fits an adult female hand measuring between 7.5 and 8.5 inches around the knuckles (not including thumb). My mitts are a comfy fit on my 7.5” (medium) hand, and fit more snugly on a 8.5” (large) hand.
A wider or narrower mitt can be made by adding or subtracting 8 stitches to your cast-on. If desired, the mitt can be made longer or shorter by adding or subtracting pattern repeats as indicated on the chart.

This pattern has been fully revised, and the charts re-written to make them easier to follow.
