This simple but elegant lace pattern blends the edging with the main lace repeat, which in turn is blended with the stockinette short row section. The lace pattern is given both written line by line and in chart formats.

The pattern is designed to use one skein of fingering weight yarn.

Pattern Notes
This shawl is worked from the bottom lace edge up. After the edging is completed, short rows and decreases are worked to shape the shawl. A purl ridge and I-cord bind off ensure the top edge won’t roll.

(2) US2 / 2.75mm (or one size smaller that needles to obtain gauge) dpns for I cord bind off
Larger needle if required for loose cast on

Gauge
20 sts and 32 rows = 4in / 10 cm in St st (blocked)
Rosette repeat (8 sts by 16 rows): 1¾in / 4.5cm wide by 2in / 5cm tall (blocked)

Precise gauge is not necessary, but alterations in gauge will affect yarn requirements.
