Are you looking for an easy pattern that is not boring to knit, for your first shawl? Or are you an experienced knitter and need a quick gift?
Then this is the shawl for you!
Crescent shape in garter stitch, small stripes in a contrast colour that feature simple lace patterns, a lace border—step by step the complexity of the lace pattern increases, but they are all suitable for beginning knitters who know how to do knit decreases and yarn overs.
If you want to use up leftovers, why not make every lace stripe in a different colour? Or even the garter sections? There are lots of ways you can change this design to make it uniquely yours.
This is a companion pattern to Simplicity is Key and I am working on a third pattern to go with them.
Materials:
5 mm/US 8 knitting needles, I used a 120 cm/40” circular needle
Total yarn needed: Aran weight yarn, 450 m/492 yds
