Update Oct 2009 - the Steppe Ahead Sweater for any bulky yarn!

Small Steppe: 31" chest, for 6-8 yo, 420 yds. Large Steppe: 39" chest, for 10-13 yo, 630 yds.



"Avalanche Yarn" was a generic super-bulky given away for Dulaan charity knitting. Substitute any super-bulky yarn. Worsted weight yarn such as Cascade 220 can be held doubled as well. Dulaan only accepts 100% wool or other warm animal fibers.

Note: Bulky yarn (e.g. Lamb’s Pride Bulky) can also be used on US size 10.5 to 11 needles. Follow the Large Steppe pattern, just reducing the length of the sleeves, to obtain a Small Steppe sweater.
