The stitch pattern for this scarf works well for both women and men, the color being the main determinant. Both the right and wrong sides of the stitch pattern are unique, which makes the scarf reversible.
Since the stitch pattern uses only knit and purl stitches in a four row repeat, it is easy to remember and can be used by a beginning knitter or as a pattern for a class of new knitters. The texture of the pattern will keep more experienced knitters interested as well.
Approximately 420 yards of DK weight yarn and Size 4 (3.5 mm) needles are used.
