DESCRIPTION
Step into interlocking crochet with the Steppingstone Skinny Scarf!

Featuring an easy-to-memorize 4-row repeat, this pattern creates stunning, seamless colorwork using just one color at a time.

The reversible design ensures it looks amazing on both sides, and its slim profile makes it surprisingly versatile. Wrap it multiple times around your neck for a cozy, layered look, or wear it as a neckerchief with the length elegantly draping over your shoulders. It even works as a headband for a playful, bohemian touch! However you style it, this is the kind of accessory that earns compliments.

The Steppingstone Skinny Scarf is worked flat in turned rows, one color at a time. You will turn your work once every two rows. The starting stitch count determines the width of the scarf, while the total number of rows determines its length. As written, the pattern produces a narrow scarf of approximately 3 inches (7.5 cm) wide and 77 inches (195 cm) long, but both dimensions are easy to adjust. Add or reduce stitches in multiples of 4 to change the width, or simply stop earlier or continue further to reach your preferred length.

This pattern was originally published as part of Hobbii’s 2025 Crochet Advent, A Winter’s Tale. It is now available in my usual pattern layout through my webshop or Ravelry. The pattern is also available as a Hobbii Plus pattern, formatted in Hobbii’s pattern template, and it’s available in a bunch of languages including German, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, and Dutch.

Sample 1 (cream + light green): Hobbii Highland Wool (100% Wool; 192 yds/175 m per 1.75 oz/50 g ball) in Eggshell (02) and Artichoke Melange (23).

Sample 2 (sienna + ultramarine): Hobbii Alpaca Silk (70% Alpaca, 30% Mulberry Silk; 182 yds/166 m per 1.75 oz/50 g ball) in Siena (22) and Berliner Café (10).

Sample 3 (cream + lavender): Hobbii x Bella Coco Merino (100% Merino Wool; 180 yds/165 m per 1.75 oz/50 g ball) in Cream (03) and Heather (24).

• Hooks: US G-6/4.0 mm or size needed to obtain gauge. I’m a tight crocheter, so you may have to go down in hook size.

• Notions: Scissors, yarn needle, stitch marker.

YARDAGE
1 ball or approximately 180 yds/165 m of each of the two colors.
