Sterling and Crystal Cuff by Annie Modesitt

Sterling and Crystal Cuff

Pattern description from Lace Style: “Annie Modesitt has used fine silver wire to knit this classy little bracelet on large needles that exaggerate the open stitches of a simple pattern. Unlike normal knitting yarns, the wire stretches to fit over the hand, then can be reshaped to fit the wrist. Swarovski glass crystals give a ruffled look to the cast-on and bind-off edges. The cuff is knitted circularly in just twelve simple rounds – you’ll be done before you know it!”

Finished Size: About 8” (2-.5cm) circumference and 3” (7.5cm ) wide

Notions: 28 Swarovski crystal 6mm cube beads; marker (m); needle-nose pliers; strong scissors or wire cutter; clear nail polish (optional).

Gauge: Exact gauge is not critical for this project

Note: “ To put on the bracelet, insert your index fingers into the bracelet cylinder, one from each end. Using a hand-over-hand rolling motion, tug gently to widen the circumference until the bracelet is just large enough to fit over you hand. Once the bracelet is on your wrist, trap the upper edge of the bracelet against the base of you palm using the fingertips of your bracelet hand, and use your other hand to tug gently all the way around the lower edge of the bracelet to stretch it long and narrow to fit your wrist.”

Aluminum needles are best for working with wire.
