Stitch Definition Swatch
This simple swatch pattern is designed to help you understand how different yarns affect the way your stitches look. Knit it in any yarn you like and see for yourself how fibre content, ply structure and texture all make a difference to the finished fabric.
The swatch includes three sections: a six stitch cable, a horseshoe lace panel and a seed stitch texture pattern, so you can compare how each yarn handles all three stitch types in one small, quick knit. Worked flat, it is suitable for any yarn weight from fingering to Aran. Originally worked using DK weight yarns and 4mm needles.
Samples use the following yarns: Grey - Voluptuous DK; Teal - Wriggle DK; Yellow - Crush (4ply) held together with Floof (laceweight); Red - Enchant DK; Blue - Bloom DK
