Stitch Play 26f
by Nancy Lekx
This design is the sixth of a series—twelve explorations of different stitch patterns throughout 2026—and the last of three projects focused on slipped stitches. This month, our floats are visible on the right side of our project, creating a more blended look to the colourwork. Or, you can knit this stitch pattern all in one single colour for simple texture. The sample square (or washcloth) is knit in one colour, while the shawl features one tonal, semi-solid yarn, and one multi-coloured yarn. The pattern document also includes instructions for knitting this stitch pattern in the round.
The techniques you will need to know, or learn, to complete this project are:
- cast on and bind off;
- knit and purl;
- kfb increase;
- slip stitches, purlwise, with yarn held to the right side of your work.
