The main body and sleeves are worked in intarsia, or you could work the sports from the chart in duplicate stitch when the front is finished, if you find bobbins of yarn hanging at the back awkward.

The legs are created separately and appliqued on for a cool 3D effect, and there is no reason not to play around with your creature’s colours – pink with purple spots anyone?
