Storm Cloud Tee
One of the things I miss most about growing up in Ohio
is the summer storms. From June to August, most nights
are filled with anticipation of a good thunderstorm. I love watching the clouds pile up darkly on the horizon and the still air, thick and heavy with moisture.
Materials
Yarn: Brown Sheep Company Nature
Spun Sport, 100% wool; 184 yds/50g: 119S, Bulldog Blue (A), 1 (1, 2, 2, 2, 2) balls; 137S, Cobalt Blue (B), 1 (1, 1, 1, 2, 2) balls; N30S, Nordic Blue (C), 1 (1, 1, 1, 2, 2) balls; 115S, Bit of Blue (D), 1 (1, 1, 1, 2, 2) balls; 740S, Snow (E), 2 (2, 3, 3, 4, 4) balls.
Needles Size: 7 (4.5 mm): 24-40” cir, depending on size you are making. Size 5 (3.75 mm): 24-40” cir, depending on size you are making, and double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); tapestry needle.
Notes: This tee is worked in the round from the bottom up. Sleeves are provisionally cast on, and the yoke is worked using raglan shaping.
The Cloud chart and waist shaping are worked at the same time, so the pattern may not begin with the first stitch on the chart. Be sure to align the pattern repeats so your clouds line up vertically. When chart is complete, the remainder of the tee is worked in E.
