Stout beers have always made me laugh. When I think of stout, my mind goes to thick trees and robust livestock. I suppose stout beers are meant to evoke those thoughts too. In any case this colorway reminded me of a stout beer with a bit foam on top and I just couldnt’ resist naming this lightweight hat the “Stout” hat.

With just a hint of lace and mock cables in the ribbed bands, this hat is easily customized by adding or subtracting repeats of the chart.

This pattern is meant for adventurous novice knitters to experienced knitters and all those in-between.
