This unusually-shaped shawl starts from the center and is worked outwards. Holding 2 strands of lace weight yarn together, one in a solid, one in a variegated color, gives a beautiful marled effect, similar to the color changes of the sea. It reminds me of the Strait of Gibraltar or Bonifacio, the latter of which I had the chance to admire as a young teenager. The lace patterning replicates the ripples of water, undulating along the length of the shawl just as the water currents run through the Straits.
Pattern is charted only.
